Privacy notice
Last updated 18 October 2026
Teammetry helps organizations understand how work really happens in their teams, through private conversations with the people who do the work, and compares candidates with how a team works so the organization's own interviewers know what to explore. This notice explains what we collect, why, who processes it, how long it is kept, and what you can ask for. It applies under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who is responsible
The organization that invited you decides why its conversations are held and is responsible for them (the data fiduciary). Teammetry processes the conversations on its behalf, under its instructions. For questions about a conversation, contact the organization that invited you.
If you take part in a conversation
- What we keep. Your name and email, encrypted, so the organization can invite you; the text of the conversation, transcribed as it happens; and the observations drawn from it. No recording of your voice is stored.
- What the organization sees. Whether you have finished. For team members, managers, and leaders, only findings drawn from several people, never what you said; a sole leader's view is shown as the leadership perspective. For candidates, the hiring team reads a report of your conversation, including short quotes from it, alongside its own interviews.
- What it is not. Teammetry does not decide whether anyone is hired, does not rank people, and does not score you as a person. People at the organization make every decision.
- How it is used. To produce the organization's insights and candidate reports, and to keep the service working. It is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI models.
If you use the organization portal
We keep your work email, your sign-in identity from the identity provider, your role, and a record of what you do in the portal (the audit history your organization can see).
Who processes it
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| OpenAI | The voice and text interviewer, live transcription, and reading conversations into observations and reports | United States |
| Auth0 (Okta) | Signing in to the portal | United States |
| Resend | Sending invitations, reminders, and notifications | United States |
| Our hosting provider | Running Teammetry and its database | Where our servers are located; ask us for details |
Data sent to these providers is processed outside India, under their data-processing terms.
How long it is kept
Each organization sets its retention periods when it starts. By default, after a team's work is closed, names and emails are removed after 90 days, conversation text after 180 days, and the reports drawn from them after 365 days. An organization can also ask for all of its data to be deleted.
Your choices
- You can pause a conversation, stop at any time, and type instead of speaking.
- You can ask for what you said to be deleted: use the link on your conversation page, or ask the organization that invited you. The organization completes the request; your conversation and the observations from it are then deleted, and the next refresh of the insights no longer draws on them.
- You can ask for a copy of your data or for it to be corrected, through the organization or by writing to us.
- If you are not satisfied with a response, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
Names and emails are encrypted, connections are encrypted, access within an organization is limited by role and team, and every consequential action is recorded in an audit history.
